In the French city of Arles, one of the prisoners took an employee of the facility hostage. The 37-year-old man requested to be transferred to another prison. His demands were not met and the man surrendered. Fortunately, nothing happened to the hostages.
The incident occurred on Friday morning at a prison in the French city of Arles. At 11:00 a.m., a 37-year-old man armed with dangerous objects took five people hostage, including four nurses and a guard, from the prison. They were kept in the infirmary.

A man serving an eight-year sentence for rape was scheduled to be released in 2031. He also received psychiatric treatment. He requested to be transferred to another prison, TF1 television reported.
Security services arrived at the scene, assisted by local intervention teams. The man was arrested just before 4 p.m.

Shortly after, French Justice Minister Gerard Darmanin confirmed that the case had been closed, stating that “no one was injured.”
