Last night, Tuesday morning, almost the whole country was covered with frost, and in the coldest place it was as cold as -6 degrees. The next night and morning will be very cold in some areas.
On the night from Monday to Tuesday, the temperature dropped below zero in most of Poland. The coldest was in Kozienice (Masovia province), where it was -6 degrees. The thermometers showed almost the same value at 6 o'clock in the morning.
It was colder near the ground. In Kozienice, Łódź and Rzeszów, the air temperature was 8 degrees cold, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management reports.
Cold arctic air flows to Poland from the north of the continent. The weather is influenced by high pressure, so the sky is cloudless in many places, but the night light also contributes to a significant drop in temperature.
On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in the south, east and center of the country, the temperature will drop the most. Thermometers show -2 to -4 degrees of cold, but in places, in Podkarpacie, Lublin region and Świetokrzyskie region, up to 6 degrees of cold is possible, and the ground temperature can drop to -10 degrees.
Residents of eastern and south-eastern regions of the country will see negative temperatures in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The weather will warm up from 1 to 3 degrees and in some places from 4 to 6 degrees.
Warmer nights over the weekend
At the end of the week, the weather will change in Poland. – Cloudy weather will dominate throughout the country, as a result of which the temperature will not drop so much, – tvnmeteo.pl meteorologist Damian Zdonek explains.
On the nights from Thursday to Friday, from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday, thermometers will show minus values only in the southern regions. It is cold there from 1 to 3 degrees.
