The full Israeli government on Friday night unanimously ratified an agreement with the Palestinian Hamas on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.
Reuters reported that 24 ministers voted in favor and eight voted against. Earlier, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s Israeli Security Cabinet accepted a ceasefire.

At the latest 16 days after the ceasefire takes effect, negotiations will begin on the next steps of the agreement, including the release of all remaining hostages, a permanent ceasefire, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip. The third stage of negotiations will see the bodies of the remaining hostages handed over to the Israeli side and rebuilding of the enclave will begin.
