The Diocese of Rome has been called on by the Pope to donate its assets to the homeless. The appeal was contained in a letter addressed to clergy in connection with the upcoming Jubilee.
In a special letter sent Friday to diocesan priests, friars and clergy in connection with the upcoming Jubilee, Pope Francis appealed to the Diocese of Rome.
Diocese of Rome calls for fight against homelessness
“Ahead of the Jubilee Year, I urge dioceses to not only provide hospitality to all arriving pilgrims, but also to take action for those who are homeless and at risk of disease. “I asked for a concrete expression of concern for the loss of that,” the Pope wrote.
This appeal concerns a parish body that owns real property. Francis called on them to “contribute to alleviating the housing crisis through acts of charity and solidarity, and to inspire hope for the thousands of people in Rome who live in difficult and precarious conditions.”

The pope also called on church institutions and religious organizations to “act bravely to show love for one's neighbor” and to provide free space or apartments to those in need.
There is no exact information about how many such buildings there are in the Eternal City.
