Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was visiting Budapest and appeared at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. On the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit, he said, inter alia: With Donald Tusk, head of the Polish government.
Volodymyr Zelenskiy made his first public appearance in Hungary, which holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, since Russia's invasion of Ukraine began. The European Political Community Summit will be held in Budapest.
The President of Ukraine came to Japan at the invitation of Mr. Orban and European Council President Charles Michel. “This is the fifth summit in this format,” President Zelenskiy said, recalling that the first summit was held in the Czech Republic, the second in Moldova, and then in Spain and the United Kingdom.

On Wednesday, President Zelenskiy said in an evening address to the Ukrainian people that “challenges for European security and new opportunities for all partners will be discussed in Budapest.” He also announced that a number of meetings would be held with European leaders to conclude an agreement.

“Previously, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that in connection with Donald Trump's victory in the US elections, the European Union should develop a new strategy of action towards Ukraine. “We are concerned about the fate of the loans to Ukraine,'' the Unian agent recalled, “totaling $50 billion, which the countries had previously agreed upon at the G7.''
