What is the story
In a shocking revelation, police have revealed that what was initially believed to be a hit-and-run incident in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was a planned murder plot. The accused, Ajay, told police that he planned to kill his second wife, Muskan, because of her lavish lifestyle. Officials said that Ajay paid a friend Rs 25 lakh to carry out the murder using an SUV.
Contradictions in husband's testimony unravel murder plan
The investigation into Muskan's death took a turn when inconsistencies were found between Ajay's statement and CCTV footage. Ajay initially told Jhansi Road police that he saw a scooter carrying Muskan and her brother crash into a lorry near Garden City on August 13. But investigators found that an SUV had crashed into an electric pole around the same time, contradicting Ajay's claim about the type of vehicle involved in the accident.
Husband admits to planning to kill wife
On further interrogation, Ajay confessed that he had planned to kill Muskan due to financial stress caused by Muskan's extravagant spending habits. He admitted to paying Rs 25 lakh to a friend, who was heavily in debt and in need of money, to carry out the crime using a second-hand SUV. Muskan died during treatment at the hospital.
The couple's relationship history and the motive for the murder
Ajay and Muskan first met and fell in love in 2017 while preparing for the MPPSC exam in Gwalior. In 2021, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Muskan's father arranged her marriage. Ajay also got married the following year, but his wife did not live with him. After divorcing her husband this year, Muskan returned to Gwalior and rekindled her relationship with Ajay, leading to a court marriage in 2023. The two had been living together in Saket Nagar Padavu area.
