Meteorologists of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first and second level weather warnings on a three-level scale.
IMWM Warning – Freezing Precipitation
Level 2 warnings are in effect for the following provinces due to freezing rain that may cause black ice:
Masovia (outside the northwestern part of the region); Podlaski (except Lublin Counties);
Light, sometimes moderate rain, freezing rain or sleet, which causes black ice, is forecast.
The warning ends at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in most locations. In the southern half of the province, Lubelsky, in the provinces of Podkarpackie, Swichtokrzyskie and Lesser Poland, and in the southern districts of the province. Silesia, Opole and Lower Silesia until the 19th of that day.
In Malopolska and Podkarpackie, the warnings will go into effect at 10 a.m. on Wednesday and end at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. on Thursday.
In addition, in the Tatra region of the region, a warning of level 1 has been issued for freezing precipitation in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. They come into effect at 2pm and end at 8am on Thursday.

Great caution is advised to monitor the weather forecast and developments. Follow all recommendations given by emergency services in an emergency. Adjust your plans to weather conditions.
What is a first level meteorological warning?
According to the IMWM definition, a first-level warning provides conditions for the occurrence of hazardous meteorological phenomena that can cause material losses and threaten health and life. Doing business under the influence of these factors is difficult and dangerous. Problems caused by activities in the hazardous area, including delays due to traffic disruptions, disruptions to outside events or possible cancellations. Caution is advised, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
