Andrzej Malicki, Janusz Palikot's defense attorney, reported in an interview with TVN24 that his client remains in custody. Palikot's family and friends did not raise two million zlotys to pay the bail that would allow the businessman to be released.
The Palikot family could not pay the 2 million PLN pledge on time. The deadline was Thursday, December 26. The politician's defense lawyer Andrzej Malichki presented other requests in this case.
– Janusz Palikot remains in custody. Family and friends did not collect the required amount of PLN 2 million. As they announced earlier, the amount they were able to collect yesterday was one million three hundred and fifty thousand zlotys, TVN24 reporter Malgorzata Markzok reports. As he stated, there are efforts, firstly, to reduce the deposit and secondly, to extend the payment period.

On December 18, the Wroclaw District Court considered the appeal of Palikot's defense to extend the former lawyer's pretrial detention until January 1, and decided that he could be released after paying a bail of 2 million euros. The court has set the deadline for paying the bail until December 26.
