American director and screenwriter Jeff Baena, husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, has died. He was 47 years old. The circumstances of his death are not clear.
People magazine, citing police sources, reported that Baen’s body was found Friday morning by his assistant at the director’s home in Los Angeles. In a statement to the media, the family said they were “devastated” and asked that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
Jeff Baena, the director of such films as “The Hours”, “The Second Life of Beth” and “Joshi”, was the husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, known for the TV series “White Lotus” and the sitcom “Parks and Recreation”. The couple got married in 2021.
Baena was born and raised in Miami. He attended film school at New York University and moved to Los Angeles shortly after graduation to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He has produced more than ten works.
He co-wrote, among others, the comedy How To Be Yourself starring Dustin Hoffman, Mark Wahlberg, Jude Law and Naomi Watts. He made his directorial debut in 2014 with Life After Beth, a zombie comedy starring Aubrey Plaza. The pair later collaborated on several projects.
The cause of death of this 47-year-old man has not been officially confirmed.
