Former US President Jimmy Carter has died, Reuters reported. American politician dies at age 100. In recent years, he had been battling a serious illness.
Jimmy Carter was the 39th President of the United States. The politician was 100 years old. Recently, he has been forced to limit his activities due to worsening health issues and advanced age. Nevertheless, he was unafraid to speak out about threats to democracy.
Carter survived a brain tumor in 2015, but had to undergo surgery four years later to relieve pressure on her brain. He also suffered from skin cancer and metastases. He further withdrew from public life during the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr. Carter died at his home in Plains, Georgia, his son said. He was the longest-living US president in history.

Jimmy Carter was the President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He became the head of state of the Democratic Party. His presidency coincided with several years of economic crisis and high inflation.
As a result, the politician had to make the difficult decision to cut the budget and introduce an oil tax. He then introduced an energy conservation program.
Mr. Carter will also be remembered for his successful mediation between Israel and Egypt in 1979. The agreement signed in March of the same year ended a series of Israeli-Egyptian wars and normalized relations between the two countries.
