COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – This segment of The Three was funded and sponsored by St. Joseph Health.
St. Joseph Health is helping children and adults make their physical and mental health a priority during National Health Month.
Pediatrician Dr. Jeffrey Lee says simple ways to prioritize your health are to drink plenty of fluids and exercise when you can.
“The sun is intense, so keep water close by. Other things you can do are to stay active, which can be hard especially when it's hot outside, but taking a walk after dinner helps, as does going for a swim or an aerobics class,” says Lee.
Even when we are inactive, we can still maintain our physical and mental health.
“Practicing good sleep hygiene, avoiding using your phone when you're trying to fall asleep, taking a warm bath and adopting good lifestyle habits can help you get to sleep and stay asleep.”
Dr Lee also recommends eating a balanced diet and getting the flu and RSV vaccines.
