Officers of the border guard unit of Bieszczady and the Masovian customs and tax office took part in the first inspection. BiOSG spokesman Lt. Piotr Zakielarz announced on Wednesday that the services conducted a joint inspection in Grojec on October 19.
– As a result of their work, more than 15.8 tons of illegal dry tobacco was discovered. Lieutenant Zakielarz said that the goods, worth more than PLN 9.6 million, were transported by a 49-year-old Pole in a truck.

In turn, the speaker of the head of the National Tax Administration Asp. Justyna Pasejinska noted that according to transport documents, the cargo should be granulated fertilizer. Instead, officers found cartons of dry tobacco in 33 pallets.
– The driver was questioned as a suspect. He did not admit to committing a tax crime, Pasejinska added.

The second inspection took place in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, where a truck driven by a 43-year-old Pole was stopped. It was attended by the employees of Masovia's People's Control Department and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
