According to ZUS, since the beginning of October, the Social Insurance Institution has received more than 100,000 applications for active parents at work, the so-called grandmother's allowance.
The Social Insurance Institution reported that since October 1, parents and guardians have provided approximately PLN 106,000. About 108,000 people receive benefits for working parents. children Most of the applications were received from the residents of the Masovian Voivodeship, followed by the Silesian Voivodeship.
ZUS noted that allowances are not given when a child goes to a nursery school, a children's club, a kindergarten or is under the care of a day tutor. Then parents can apply for another benefit from Active Parents – Active in Kindergarten program.
Active parents at work
The Active Parents in the Workplace benefit is part of the Active Parents program. It can be used by working parents of children aged 12 to 35 months who do not go to a nursery school, club or kindergarten and are not under the care of a day teacher. The allowance is 1,500 PLN per month for one child, and in the case of children with a valid disability certificate, it increases to 1,900 PLN.
Parents receive this amount in their bank account and decide how to spend this allowance.
The monthly benefit amount is indivisible, meaning you are entitled to the full amount, even if the right to it has arisen during the month. In the case of parents who take turns taking care of the child, according to the court's decision, each person is given half of the allowance.
Who benefits from active parenting at work?
Support for active parents at work is provided to parents, legal guardians, foster parents and persons who run family children's homes who have a permanent job, work under a mandate contract or run their own business.
“The condition that must be fulfilled is registration for pension and disability insurance. Therefore, people who work only under a contract for a specific job are not entitled to this benefit,” ZUS emphasized.
The pension of active parents at work is given not only to persons insured with ZUS, but also to those who provide pension and disability insurance for farmers, who work on the basis of labor relations in the uniformed service, as well as for childbirth, illness, care, according to Labor Code compensation allowance, rehabilitation allowance or remuneration for the period of incapacity for work. It is only available if both parents are professionally active. To receive them, they must show a minimum level of income at which pension and disability insurance contributions are paid (minimum contribution assessment level).
In addition, it is provided that if both parents or guardians have an income, the basis of which is not less than 100% for the calculation of contributions. the minimum wage, the so-called condition of the joint level of professional activity. But the basis of each of them should not be less than 50%. the minimum wage or 30 percent in the case of people who are engaged in business and benefit from preferential contributions. But, in general, they should reach 100%. minimum wage. From July 1 of this year, the minimum wage is 4300 PLN.
ZUS explained that people who raise a child on their own should not be actively supported by other parents. But it is required that in their case the basis of pension contributions is not less than 100%. minimum wage.
Apply for money from the Active Parents at Work program. How to collect
Applications for Active Parents at Work can only be submitted online. Parents can choose from one of four available channels: eZUS/PUE ZUS platform, mZUS mobile application, e-banking and Emp@tia portal.
Depending on the professional activity of parents, as well as childcare, parents can choose one of three benefits under the “Active Parents” program: Active Parents at Work, Active Parents in Kindergarten and Active at Home.
According to the program, parents can use only one benefit per month for one child, but depending on the situation (absence of work, employment, child going to kindergarten), they can change the type of assistance several times.
Active Parenting Program can be combined with 800 plus benefits.
