This is where the data is allegedly stolen
The location data is said to have been stolen from the Norwegian-based company Gravy Analytics. He collected them from applications installed on mobile phones.
In 2024, the US Federal Trade Commission accused the company of illegally trading mobile phone user data, which includes information about the personal relationships, pregnancies, political and religious views of mobile device users. In December, Reuters reported that Gravy Analytics had reached a settlement with the Joe Biden administration, barring the company from collecting location data. Neither NRK journalists nor Reuters received a comment from Gravy Analytics about the theft of the disclosed data.
