Six Old Dominion University programs and three schools received national recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s latest Best Graduate Schools rankings.
The ODU graduate programs and schools that received the highest ratings in the survey were the part-time MBA program in the Strom College of Business, the graduate programs in the Darden School of Education and Professional Studies, and the Doctor of Nursing Program (DNP) in the School of Nursing.
These programs are ranked as follows:

“What's most impressive about U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings of best graduate programs is that nearly every college and department at the University is included,” said Robert Wojtowicz, former vice president and dean of the Graduate School. “This is an important indicator of both the quality and breadth of our graduate programs.”
Other graduate programs and schools ranked in the survey include:
#148 (tie) Computer Science Graduate Programs (out of 205) #36 (tie) CRNA Graduate Programs (out of 131) #126 (tie) Occupational Therapy Graduate Programs (out of 263) #99 (tie) Public Policy Graduate Programs (out of 270) #140 (tie) Public Health Graduate Programs (out of 209) #103 (tie) Speech-Language-Hearing Therapy Graduate Programs (out of 280) #153 (tie) Engineering Graduate Programs (out of 199)

The ODU Graduate School offers 42 master's degrees, 22 doctoral degrees, and several certificates and licenses.
Designed to aid the selection process of prospective graduate students, the Best Graduate Schools rankings evaluate programs in a variety of categories, including business, education, nursing and law.
U.S. News & World Report's Best Graduate Schools rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinion of program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of faculty, research, and students' post-graduation outcomes.
“Deciding where to attend graduate school can be a daunting task, given the number of schools offering distinctive, high-quality programs,” said Lamont Jones, U.S. News education editor in chief. “Our Best Graduate School rankings and related content help prospective students choose the one that best suits their educational needs and ultimately help them achieve career success.”
