The Ostroleka district court sentenced 42-year-old Andriy I to 25 years in prison. According to the conclusion of the prosecutor's office, he stabbed a 56-year-old compatriot 30 times with a cutting tool. The victim died as a result of his injuries. The verdict is not final.
In March 2024, the Prosecutor's Office of Ostroleka District sent to the Ostroleka District Court the case against Ukrainian citizen Andria I., who was involved in the murder of 56-year-old Pavlo H.
30 blows with a sharp tool
The murder took place on December 25, 2022 in Ostrov Mazowiecka in the rented house of a 56-year-old citizen of Ukraine, who lived in the city for several years and worked in a nearby dairy cooperative.
– The accused acted with direct intent to kill and stabbed the injured person 30 times in the head, body and upper limbs with a cutting tool. He hit him 21 times with great force. These injuries resulted in injuries that reached the cavity of the internal organs, said Elžbieta Lukasevic, press spokesperson of the Ostroleka District Prosecutor's Office. – Andria hit I. nine times with little force. – she added.
The man's body had many stab wounds around the head, body and upper limbs. The owner of the apartment rented by the Ukrainian made a terrible discovery. The expert indicated the cause of death of this man as injuries to the heart and lungs.
First he admitted, then he denied
During the investigation, the accused first confessed to the accused crime and made comments. – This action was allegedly committed on the basis of jealousy towards the woman. During the trial, the accused changed his position, did not admit the murder, and stated that he was present at the incident, but he was not the one responsible for the murder. Lukasiewicz said that he identified another person as the perpetrator of the crime. He withheld his comments during the trial.
The prosecutor's office emphasized that the evidence collected during the preparatory trial, as well as the evidence taken directly to the court, leave no doubt that the murder was committed by the accused.
The 42-year-old man was in pretrial detention during the entire period of the investigation and during the court proceedings.
The accused was convicted
The district court of Ostroleka city completely agreed with the facts presented in the prosecutor's speech, and sentenced the defendant to 25 years of imprisonment.
On November 5 of this year, the Ostroleka district court found the accused guilty of murder and sentenced him to murder. 25 years in prison. The court awarded PLN 50,000 as compensation to the victim's daughter.
