PKO Bank Polski warns against fraudsters impersonating this financial institution. “The email contains an attachment with malware,” reads a post on the bank's website and social media.
“Beware of fake e-mails posing as the bank: “PKO Bank Polski – Payment Confirmation 2024.11.18”. The messages have different e-mail addresses in the sender field, for example “Accountant PL [email protected]” – we read on the website of PKO Bank Polski and the profile of the financial institution on social networks.
Fraudsters show the name of the bank
It added that “the bank is not the author of these messages” and the email contained an attachment with malware.
“Do not click on links or click on links in these types of emails. If you click on this link, you may lose money and control of your account,” the message said.

PKO BP is the largest bank in Poland. It has about 12 million customers and assets worth more than PLN 500 billion.
The next places in the ranking of the largest banks by assets are Pekao, Santander, ING and mBank.
