The Voivodeship of Greater Poland takes over the former Russian consulate building in Poznan. Its purpose is to solve civil problems, including problems of foreigners, most of whom are citizens of Ukraine.
After the Russians from the building ul. Bukovska 53A moved in Poznań, it was likely to serve as a consulate, but from Ukraine.
On November 16, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslav Sikorsky, announced this during a meeting with the residents of Rokietnica (Poland Grand Duchy). He then said that if Ukraine were to use real estate in Poznan, which Russia abandoned, and reopen its consulate in the city, the government would respond to such a request “with full sympathy.”

They showed interest, but that was it
Three days later, the Ukrainian embassy sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressing its interest in this building. As it turned out, he was all this.
“Due to the fact that the Ukrainian side currently does not have a professional consular institution in Poznań, for which the property is available for its needs, Ukraine must first request consent for its establishment – but such a request has been submitted,” the information department informed. to the TVN24 channel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Therefore, it was decided to give the building to the administration of Wilkopolska Voivodeship. The Ukrainian side has already been informed of this decision.

The building will be donated “to further the WUW’s statutory purposes.” It will be used to consider civil issues, including the affairs of foreigners, most of whom, as the ministry emphasizes, are Ukrainian citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assures that if the Ukrainian side wants to establish its consulate in Poznań, “this application will be considered immediately and sympathetically.” The Embassy of Ukraine can also rely on assistance in finding another property that can be used as the headquarters of the office. “However, no such appeal has been received so far,” said the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The consulate has been operating here since 1960.
The Russians occupied this villa at 53A Bukovska street since 1960. First, the consulate of the Soviet Union was located here, then Russia. They did not allow Kovalsky on average here. The building was guarded.
