However, Meheyev did not say who Russia's secret partner was. In 2019-2020, Russian media reported that Algeria would purchase Su-57 aircraft. In the end, no order was placed. Currently, the African country is cooperating with Moscow, delivering slightly less technologically advanced Su-30s.
Su-57s were also provided to Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates. Russia attempted to work with India to develop a modernized version of the plane, but India ultimately withdrew cooperation and began its own program for the new plane.
Su-57 on sale. 2 potential buyers
Ukrainian television service Espresso TV has named Iran and North Korea as potential buyers. The Iranian government will likely consider purchasing the Sukhoi fighter jet family as it has the potential to expand its use of its capabilities. The country has already ordered the Su-35.
Meanwhile, in the case of North Korea, it is worth noting that Kim Jong Un visited Russia's Su-57 factory last September. Additionally, North Korean pilots are already training in Russia as part of military cooperation between the two countries.
The export version of the Russian aircraft is called the Su-57E. It is a 5th generation multi-role fighter aircraft equipped with stealth technology. It was designed to operate in both long-range and close combat scenarios. This plane can also attack sea and land targets. The first flight of this machine took place in 2010, and the Russian army received the first copies in 2020.
