– According to preliminary police findings, the 39-year-old driver of the Hyundai veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Ford vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man who was operating in good condition, police said. Bernadette Krawczyk of KPP in Mielec.
A total of four people were injured in the accident and taken to the hospital. One of the children, a one-and-a-half-year-old child, was taken by air ambulance helicopter to a hospital in Rzeszów.
The road at the accident scene was closed to traffic for several hours.
Tragic accident on local roads
Podkarpackie police reported that apart from the accident in Sadkova Góra, no serious incidents were reported on the roads in the region on Friday.
However, the day before, a dangerous accident occurred in Podkarpacie, with tragic consequences. On Thursday afternoon, a motorcycle collided with a BMW car on National Highway 94 in Ratshin.
– According to preliminary police findings, the driver of the Suzuki motorcycle was not careful and crashed into the rear of a BMW, which was attempting to continue driving, said Piotr Wojtynik from the Rzeszów police headquarters.
Unfortunately, despite resuscitation efforts, the 71-year-old motorcyclist's life could not be saved. The 25-year-old BMW driver was not injured in the crash and was under the influence of alcohol.
