Riyadh (Jona/Spa) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held a meeting of the Executive Committee and the International Council of Research at the headquarters of King Abdullaziz Science and Technology (KAX) King.
Dr Munir bin Mahmoud El Desouki, vice-president of the World Governors’ Council, a member of the Middle East and North Africa Regional Governors’ Council, welcomed the start of the meeting, and through virtual channels from different territories of the council.
Participants considered the science programme and kingdom preparations to hold the annual general meeting of the 13th World Research Council, which will be held for the first time since the establishment of the capital Riyadh in the Middle East and North Africa regions, during the period from 18-22 May 2025. The Republic of Turkey and the Conference will cover two topics. “We shared our creative work with the research department in the age of artificial intelligence to “support the global challenges towards achieving sustainable development.”
Participants reviewed reports from various working groups, along with the mechanisms that benefit from the Council’s future trends and turn them into enforcement plans that allow the Research Council to derive different policies.
Participants discussed reports from the five regions of the Global Research Council, including the European, Asia, the Pacific, Africa, the Southern Sahara region, the Middle East and North Africa region, and the Council’s role in strategic planning for research funding.
The Kingdom’s World Research Council Conference, its outstanding status and scientific institutions, and unique efforts at regional and global levels that serve issues of research, development and innovation highlight the Kingdom’s continued efforts to strengthen cooperation between research councils in the Middle East and North Africa region. In addition to the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening collaboration in the sectors of the Kingdom before wise leadership, in the areas of research, development and innovation, and achieving global strategic goals.
