Lion riot and panic in the Italian circus
According to local media, the incident recorded on video happened on December 23 in Licola Circus, near Naples. After the video went viral on the internet, the facility was criticized. Internet users accuse him of animal cruelty and endangering the audience.
The coach, quoted by Italian media as saying, responded to the allegations by explaining that the riot in the cage was caused by “a fight between two men over a woman in the heat.” “People say that the animals were treated badly, but this is not true,” said the man. He added that his behavior was just an attempt to “do everything he could” to avoid being attacked by animals and to protect them from himself.
The man's words did not convince the animal rights activists who planned a demonstration in front of the circus building on Friday, December 27. They are against the use of animals for entertainment.
