South Korea’s Jeju Air plane crashed on Sunday while landing at Muan Airport in the south of the country. The local fire department said at least 96 people were killed.
According to the preliminary information provided by Yonhap agency, the accident occurred as a result of the failure of the airport equipment due to a collision with birds.
The pilot attempted to land without extending the landing gear to the fuselage, but the maneuver failed. The plane, which was moving at high speed, skidded down the runway and then crashed into a concrete wall. The car caught fire. There were 175 passengers and six crew members on board the Boeing 737 from the capital of Thailand, Bangkok.
