A super full moon was visible from Friday to Saturday night. We observed this kind of phenomenon four times this year without using any special equipment. The “Beaver Moon” is the fourth and final supermoon of 2024.
Although the “beaver moon” wasn't as strong as the supermoon we saw a month ago, it was still a spectacular sight in the sky. Friday's Beaver Moon appeared about 14 percent brighter, astronomers said. It is larger and 30 per cent brighter than usual, the BBC website reports.
There were 4 super full moons in 2024
This year we saw four supermoons. The first one was called a “blue moon” and lit up the August sky. A month later, the Harvest Moon was observed, and in October, the third and brightest of them, the Hunter's Moon, was visible in the sky.

This month is the turn of the “Beaver Moon,” the last of this year's four supermoons. Full moons have names that reflect what happens in nature. The name “beaver moon” may be related to the increased beaver activity during this time. These animals are preparing for winter.
Others believe the name originates from the terminology of some Native American tribes. Native Americans set beaver traps before swamps, lakes, and rivers froze over, in November, to have more fur for the winter.
The next super full moon won't be seen until October 2025.
