Wrocław President Jacek Stryk has been accused by the State Prosecutor's Office of offering financial benefits to the former rector of Collegium Hunum for obtaining a diploma from this university, and of using this illegally obtained document to blackmail him. – Jacek S. is accused of giving financial benefits to the former rector of the Collegium Hunum, and even though Jacek S. has not completed these studies, he was awarded an MBA graduate diploma. PK Tomasz Tadra told reporters on Friday morning, after several hours of interrogation and confrontation.
He added that after receiving this diploma, the mayor of Wrocław used it in several municipalities. – On this basis, he extorted a total of more than 230,000 złoty, knowing that this was a required document for appearing before the Audit Committee. PLN – said the Director.

He acknowledged that in recent days four people have been detained in connection with the illegal acquisition of diplomas from these studies in the Collegium Hunum case, which also includes corrupt practices. The Collegium Hunum case concerns misconduct at a private university. To date, 28 people have been detained as part of the investigation, and nearly 150 criminal charges have been filed in total.

After hours of questioning, Jacek Stryk himself spoke out about the incident, calling the allegations “ridiculous.”
After leaving the prosecutor's office, Stryk told reporters he had pleaded not guilty and had given a detailed explanation. – We discussed most of these issues almost two years ago. These things are not new to me as this problem has been going on for a very long time. They may not be new, but they are ridiculous. The President said he would like to clarify all of them without exception and announced that he would keep us updated on this issue.
– I have not paid bribes, and perhaps we will discuss it, – he asserted.
When asked if he intended to resign, the president said he had no reason to do so. -If it was somehow related to the work I performed, the prosecutor could have, just to be clear, barred me from performing the work according to the regulations. But that didn't happen – he noted and announced his return to duty. I'll be working in Wrocław soon.
Asked about the arrest, detention and lengthy interrogation, Stryk expressed the belief that the activities at the prosecutor's office could have been “organized differently.” He added that he spent most of his time at the Katowice prosecutor's office waiting without giving an explanation. When asked if he thought there was a political undertone to the incident, he replied: – I don't know the context, but in recent years I have been exposed to completely different trials and completely different stories, and everything seems strange. That's what I mean – he explained.
