The US military announced on Sunday that it had carried out airstrikes against Islamic State targets in central Syria, Reuters reported.

The US military has made it clear that it will not allow ISIS to take advantage of the current situation in these Middle Eastern countries.

On Sunday morning, rebels from the Islamic group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham announced the “fall” of Bashar al-Assad's regime. Militants seized state television and occupied government buildings in Damascus. Reuters reported that the current dictator attempted to leave the country.
Meanwhile, Syria's current prime minister announced a peaceful transfer of power. He also said that the new government will decide on the continued presence of Russian troops in Syria.
