Tesco said he will change the way he uses his bakery model
Tesco has announced its intention to reduce approximately 400 jobs as part of the plans to “simplify” the company.
The supermarket giant said jobs will be assigned in its bakeries, mobile telephone stores and headquarters to Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
Tesco explained that he had to seek “more effective working ways” due to the increasingly competitive nature of the British grocery industry.
The retailer said that the reshuffle will see the change in which he exploits his bakery model in certain stores and the modifications of the management structure used in Tesco Mobile Stores.
Matthew Barnes, CEO, said: “These are difficult decisions affecting our colleagues, but we think they are necessary to allow us to invest in what matters most for our customers.
“Our priority is to support affected colleagues and we will do our best to help them find alternative roles within our company. Today, we have almost 1,000 vacant positions.”
In addition, Tesco said he will soon launch a consultation on the closure of his Snodland distribution center in Kent.
He said it made plans to open a new warehouse site in Aylesford, about three kilometers away, all the workers affected by Snodland have offered themselves roles on the new site.

Tesco recently celebrated his “bigger Christmas of all time”
Earlier this month, Tesco’s bosses celebrated the “greatest Christmas” of the retailer who increased his share of the British grocery market to his highest level since 2016.
He reported that the United Kingdom and Ireland as for type sales, excluding fuel and VAT, increased by 3.7% over the six weeks to January 4 and record trade in the week before Christmas.
The cuts in Tesco intervened a week after her Rival Sainsbury said that she would reduce 3,000 jobs while she would close her remaining cafes and close her counters to pastry and pizza.
