A fire broke out at a hotel on Bangkok’s popular Khaosan Road, killing three foreigners and injuring several others. The nationality of the victim was not disclosed.
The fire broke out on the fifth floor of the six-story Ember Hotel on Sunday evening. There were 75 people in the building on Khao San Road, a popular tourist spot.

Police Colonel Sanon Senmani told The Associated Press that three people were killed and the victims were foreign tourists. One person was found dead at the scene, and the other two died after being taken to hospital.
Unofficial reports identified the dead as Brazilian, Ukrainian and American nationals.

Local newspaper Khao Sod reported that seven people were injured, including two Thais and five foreigners, citing local police. There were no serious injuries, but there were symptoms of smoke inhalation.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sitipunth ordered the temporary closure of hotels.

During the fire, many people took shelter on the roof, and firefighters used escape ladders to remove the roof. The flames were quickly extinguished.
It is known that the fire started in room 502, but the cause is not yet known. An investigation is currently underway. Local authorities have urged caution when celebrating the New Year with fireworks.
