Donald Trump announced that Massad Boulos will be his adviser on Arab and Middle East affairs. The Lebanese-American businessman participated in the Trump campaign and is credited with winning the Muslim minority vote. Boulos is the father-in-law of Tiffany, the daughter of the US president-elect.
Massad Boulos is the second father-in-law chosen by the future president to join his administration. On Saturday, the president-elect announced that he had appointed Charles Kushner as the US ambassador to France. Kushner is the father of Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump's husband.
Boulos has extensive connections in the Arab world. Moreover, he has close ties with the political parties of Lebanon, which has been a source of conflict in this country for many decades.
According to Reuters sources, the connections of this businessman in Lebanon's Hezbollah are particularly important. This Shiite organization, which is supported by Iran, has a very strong position in the political institutions of Lebanon.
Boulos is a friend of Sulaiman Antoine Farangia, a Christian ally of Hezbollah, who is running for the presidency of Lebanon. Moreover, it has close ties with the Christian Lebanese Forces party, which in turn is an opposition force to Hezbollah.
Entrepreneurship was an important part of the Republican Party's success in the presidential election as well. His association with the Muslim minority in key states, mainly Pennsylvania and Michigan, is believed to have helped Trump secure the support of some 300,000 members of the minority. In the 2020 election, Muslims voted for Joe Biden, which helped him defeat Trump.

Boulos was born in Lebanon and moved to Texas as a teenager. There he obtained a law degree and then worked for the family company – the large company SCOA Motors, which, among others, distributes vehicles in West Africa. He has dual citizenship: Lebanon and America.
His son Michael is the husband of Tiffany Trump – the only child of the Republican and his second wife Marley Maples, with whom he was married from 1993 to 1999. Tiffany met her future husband on the Greek island of Mykonos and started dating him in 2018. They got married in November 2022 at Mar-a-Lago.
