Charis Jones (centre), CEO and chief designer at Sassy Jones, celebrates the brand's 11th anniversary with staff. Sassy customers from around the world sing before entering the store to mark the brand's anniversary.
The global fashion and lifestyle brand's journey is one of determination, inspiration and the desire to positively impact the lives of others. CEO and Chief Designer Charis Jones founded the brand with a primary focus on women's confidence and how that radiance can transform the way we see and approach life.
Sassy Jones started out touring trade shows and then into Charis' kitchen as she was simultaneously raising twin boys. She quickly pivoted and opened a pop-up shop in her home, livestreamed on social media and called it “Sparkle Party®️”. This is how the brand began impacting the lives and confidence of women around the world by empowering them to make bold lifestyle choices.
Over the past 11 years, the brand has achieved the following:
First Black woman-owned business to build two women's dorms at an academic center in Kenya, Africa to alleviate the epidemic of menstrual poverty; Ranked #24 on the Inc. 5000 list; Featured in Forbes; Featured on the Today Show's “She Made It” segment; Pop-up shop featured at Macy's; Special collection featured on HSN; Opened flagship store in Richmond, Virginia; Styled Tabitha Brown for book tour stops and hosted events in Richmond, Virginia;
Reflecting on her accomplishments over the years, Kalis says, “My greatest accomplishment is transforming women's lives, one experience at a time, through our products and community, giving them the confidence to overcome any challenge in their lives.”
