The Philippine Parliament voted to dismiss Vice-President Sara Duterte following complaints concerning an alleged corruption.
Duterte, the daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte, was accused of having abused millions of dollars in public funds and threatening to have President Ferdinand “Bongbong” murdered.
She denied the accusations and alleged that she was the victim of a political vendetta.
The shock is largely considered to be an escalation of the bitter quarrel of Duterte with Marcos, who kept the nation in advance for months.
A total of 215 of the 306 members of the House of Representatives voted for dismissal, well above the third party necessary for the bill.
The bill will now be heard by the Senate of 24 members, who will meet as an indictment court.
If he is found guilty, Duterte faces the withdrawal and disqualification of the public service and would be the first vice-president of the history of the Philippines to be charged.
She should remain in office until the Senate renders her judgment.
