It will definitely be a very polarizing and divisive campaign, said Dr. Anna Materska-Sosnovska about the upcoming presidential campaign on Fact po Factach. According to prof. Anna Paczesniak's pre-election campaign cannot but be “exciting and interesting”. In turn, Prof. Andrzej Richard said that if Karol Nawrocki says that he “doesn't think anything” about the Romanowski case, it shows that “he is not only detached from the party, not only from politics, but a little bit from reality.”
The guests of “Fact po factch” on Thursday were prof. Dr. Anna Paczesniak – political scientist and European scientist from the University of Wroclaw, Dr. Anna Materska-Sosnowska – political scientist from the University of Warsaw and prof. Andrzej Richard is a sociologist of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
They discussed, among other things, the upcoming presidential campaign, which may begin in mid-January. The National Election Commission published a position according to which the Speaker of the Seimas can hold presidential elections on January 15 as soon as possible. The election campaign will begin after the publication of the marshal's decision.
What will the campaign look like?
Prof. Dr. Anna Paczesniak believes that this campaign “will not necessarily be quiet, but very exciting and interesting.” – I would like it to be fishy, although there is little evidence of this, – said the expert.
Dr. Anna Materska-Sosnovska also believes that this campaign will not be based on the authority of the president, but on emotions. – This will certainly be a campaign that polarizes and divides society again, as the two major camps in particular rely on it. Dr. Materska-Sosnowska, there is not much room for third candidates or female candidates.

Prof. Andrzej Richard assessed that “emotions in politics are, to put it bluntly, a commodity.” – He said that this campaign will be emotional, not exciting. (…) There will be emotions, and the Poles will be guided by these emotions to a large extent, he said.
He also noted that the Poles are already used to stirring up emotions during the election campaign, so they are somewhat “immune” to it. – People know that they (presidential candidates – ed.) are trying to buy us with different emotions. But not everything that politicians sell, people must buy – added prof. Richard.
Nawrocki is “a serious competitor”
The candidate of law and justice sciences, who is officially presented as a “citizen” candidate, is the president of the National Memorial Institute, Karol Navroki. Prof. Dr. Anna Paczesniak said that “it is clear that Karol Nawrocki is fighting for recognition and even on weekends he wants to be seen in completely non-political clothes, for example in the gym.”
– I think it is a very serious competitor – said Dr. Anna Materska-Sosnowska. He noted that Navroki's recognition is increasing. He also stated that Nawrocki's name is a “citizenship” candidate, including the goal of “showing the boy next door that not only Law and Justice voters can vote for him.”

Prof. Richard: Nawrocki is not only from the party, not only from politics, but also a little bit from reality
Prof. Andrzej Richard, for his part, noted that “at least part of the voters ask themselves what they are doing after leaving the gym.”
– Sometimes questions are asked about him leaving the gym, and then they say that he is leaving the party, it is not enough. And it is generally far from politics. If he says that he does not think anything about Mr. Romanovsky – on this political topic, which may be the topic of the next president – then he will not only be separated from the party, not only from politics, but also from politics. a bit of reality – said prof. Richard.

In turn, the candidate of the Civil Alliance, Rafal Trzaskovsky, “is less mysterious than Mr. Nawrocki,” says prof. Materska-Sosnovsky. -He is more proven in battles, which means he knows what his strengths and weaknesses are. We know what kind of candidate he is. “In fact, it is difficult for the election headquarters to present something surprising,” said Prof. Materska-Sosnovsky.
