More than 24 hours later, we have the first official confirmation of US media reports regarding President Joe Biden's consent to Ukraine's use of the ATACMS system in attacks on Russian territory.
Biden agreed. There is official confirmation
The US assistant secretary of state said, “We hope that the weapons that President Biden has authorized Ukraine to use will enhance Ukraine's self-defense capabilities and help the Russian Federation understand that the use of force to seize Ukrainian territory will not be successful.'' “I am doing so,” he said. Western Hemisphere's Brian Nichols said in an interview with the Brazilian daily O Globo.
“The war began with a new, unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Nichols recalled. He added that Moscow has full control over when the conflict ends.

He stressed that Biden's consent was influenced by the constantly increasing threat to the lives of Ukrainian citizens.
Media: Ukraine strikes ATACMS missiles on Russian territory
Meanwhile, RBC Ukraine agency reported, citing “informed sources” in the Armed Forces, that the first attack on Russian territory using ATACMS took place at night.
The American missile was scheduled to fall on the city of Karachev in Bryansk region, about 130 kilometers from the Ukraine-Russia border.

The goal was, among other things, artillery ammunition from North Korea.
According to the agency, this is the 67th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Service (GRAU) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Footage was posted on social media showing a massive fire that was reportedly started by shelling.
Moscow confirmed
Reports of the attack were confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Tuesday afternoon. “According to confirmed data, US ATACMS operational tactical missiles were used,” the ministry reported.
A total of six American missiles were scheduled to be launched. According to Russian reports, the S-400 and Pantsir systems are believed to have shot down five of the aircraft and damaged a sixth.
“Artillery shell fragments fell into the technical area of the military installation, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished,” the report said.
