Radio Svoboda reported that a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group will be held on January 9th. Two days earlier, the US confirmed that Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin would travel to Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
The talks were originally scheduled to take place in October, with US President Joe Biden also scheduled to attend. However, this did not happen and the American leader canceled the visit due to the threat of Hurricane Milton in the United States.
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group is comprised of more than 50 countries. Radio Svoboda claims that further aid to Ukraine will be discussed at talks in January. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced the presentation of a “victory plan” during the talks.
The Pentagon chief is scheduled to fly to Germany. Behind the scenes is support for Ukraine.
The Pentagon said the January meeting will focus on “providing practical and coordinated assistance that strengthens Ukraine’s defense capabilities today and deters future aggression.” This information was provided on January 3 by Sabrina Singh, a spokesperson for the ministry.
