The incident occurred late Friday night local time. A Southwest Airlines plane was struck by bullets as it prepared to take off at Dallas Love Field.

“Southwest Airlines Flight 2494 was scheduled to take off for Indianapolis. The crew was preparing to take off when a bullet struck the right side of the aircraft,” an airline spokesperson said.
Passengers were evacuated and the runway where the accident occurred was closed. It was launched a few hours after the service completed its activity on the site.

The spokesperson added that there were no injuries.
Dallas police confirmed to Fox News Digital that the bullet struck the Boeing 737-800 on the right side near the cockpit.
Details regarding the circumstances of the incident have not been disclosed. It is unclear who fired the shots or how many people were on the plane.
Plane shot down in Haiti
A similar incident occurred in Haiti on Monday night. Shots were fired at Spirit Airlines and JetBlue planes.
“After JetBlue Flight 935 landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, inspection revealed that a bullet struck the exterior of the aircraft,” the statement said.

JetBlue Airways has suspended flights to and from Haiti until Dec. 2 due to the violence in the country. The Federal Aviation Administration said two other planes bound for Port-au-Prince Airport were diverted as a “precautionary measure.”
Spriti Airlines said none of its passengers were seriously injured, but several were hospitalized. The gunman is believed to be a local gang member.
