US President Donald Trump met with British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer in Washington on Thursday.
– There is no contract yet. There is Russia. There is Ukraine. I think we are at a very advanced stage. I think Russia is acting very well – Trump said before speaking about priorities, referring to the issue of negotiations with Russia. However, he reserved that sending peace forces can only be said after the conclusion of the agreement that, in his opinion, is more difficult than deploying soldiers.
When asked if he trusted Putin, Trump said he was led by the principle of “trust but confirming” (“trust but checking”), but pointed out that he is confident that whatever the agreement is, it will last.

– I told him. I knew him for a long time, we had to go through Russian fraud together (“Russiagate” Scandal – ed.). That wasn’t good. It was unfair (…) and they had to go through it too – Trump said of Putin. He also emphasized that he also has a great relationship with Wołodylyski.
Trump: Did I really say that?
When asked if he still considers the Ukrainian president a dictator, Trump was surprised and replied, “Did I really say that?” I can’t believe I said that.
For a while he admitted that his relationship with Zelasky was difficult.

However, the British Prime Minister improved Trump when he again claimed that Ukraine’s European help was made up of loans.
War in Ukraine. Donald Trump on the Mineral Agreement
When asked if the US would ensure peace in Ukraine, Donald Trump said a mineral agreement with Ukraine would be such a security guarantee.
– It’s very good in this sense as many people work there. This can be said to be security. I don’t think we’ll play there with us if we’re with a lot of our employees and deal with the other things we need in our country – Trump said. Again, he excluded Ukrainian NATO membership, but assured him that he would try to maintain Ukraine to keep it as long as possible.
– If possible, see if it can be recovered or if it can recover most of Ukraine. We’ll talk about it – he said.
Washington. Donald Trump at an invitation from King Charles
When asked about his pursuit of a settlement with the European Union, Trump replied that he thought the UK had made a good decision about Brexit, expressing his belief that the future would only confirm his true self. He repeatedly complained about commercial issues and Europe with NATO.
In his greeting, Priority also invited Trump to give a letter from King Charles and submit an “unprecedented” second state visit to England.
