In an interview with the BBC, the British Foreign Secretary was asked about his offensive comments about Donald Trump. He said this is “old news” and that the next president of the United States is now “someone you can build a relationship with.”
David Ramey also praised the way the Republican Party ran its campaign and established contact with voters. “I felt deep down that this could be a victory for Trump,” he said.

Asked if he had changed his mind about Donald Trump, the British foreign secretary said: “Yes.” He added that it's hard to find a current politician who doesn't have a similar opinion about a future president and “won't say some really harsh words.”
“There was a lot being said about Donald Trump at the time, especially on Twitter. He didn't have the information that he has now as an ordinary MP and as a minister,” he added.
