How is the US election?
There are approximately 244 million eligible voters in the United States. They do not vote directly, but through the electorate. They are the ones who ultimately appoint the president. There are only 538 electoral votes in the constituency. To become president, you need to have at least 270 of them on your side. Each state has a specific number of electors, the largest – California – currently up to 54 people, then Texas – 40. Some of them are usually assigned to one of the candidates before the election – for example, in California, for 32 years, a Democrat has always been in won the presidential election. In this election, there are seven so-called Swings where it is uncertain how their constituents will vote and they decide the outcome of the vote. They are: Arizona (11 electoral votes), Georgia (16), Michigan (15), Nevada (6), North Carolina (16) and Pennsylvania (19).
