Information provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) indicates that the perpetrator of the terrorist attack in New Orleans acted alone. Reuters released footage showing Shamsuddin Jabbar’s attack.
Shamsuddin Jabbar, driving a white pickup truck, broke through police barricades and plowed into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter on Wednesday morning. He then took out a gun and started shooting, slightly injuring two police officers. He died at the scene.
“We are not assessing at this time that anyone other than Shamsuddin Jabbar was involved in this attack,” Christopher Wray of the FBI said at a conference in New Orleans. He added that the agency is confident in its assessment based on the inquiries it has made and the content found on the attackers’ phones and computers.
