Those who decide to come to the famous city at the very end must pay 10 instead of the previous 5 euros. Prices will not increase if your booking is made more than 4 days prior to arrival.
Venetian authorities also want to deal with tourists who do not book accommodation in the city. In their case, accounts receivable are billed more frequently than before – there are 29 such dates shown in 2024, and there are currently 54.

Fees will be charged from April 18th to May 4th, and from every Friday, Saturday, Sunday to May and the end of July. Guests must pay without reservation to visit Venice from 8:30am to 4pm.
“The 2024 pilot project worked,” said Simone Bencilini, a Venice councillor. – The goal remains the same. It’s about creating a new tourist flow management system and discouraging a day trip in several periods – she said.
According to the councillor, the programme that introduced Italian cities enjoys the interest of “other parts of the world” and the solution was asked by authorities from Spain Island or Kyoto, Japan.

Data shows that tourists from 194 countries came to Venice in 2024 – after Italy, Americans were the second most nationalities, followed by Germans and French. Last year, 485,062 guests paid admission fees, funding the city’s budget of 2.4 million euros.

As with last year, anyone who decides to stay in Venice will be free from the fees, but must register online beforehand.
Accounts receivable are not required from those who have only been changed to Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto, and Marittima (the port in the city centre).
Also, there is no fee for those visiting external islands such as Lido, Murano, and Brano, but this is not an issue for most vacationers.
