The 2024 Paris Olympics have been plagued by controversy. Amid the uproar over the inclusion of breakdancing in the prestigious event, a video of the women's beach volleyball final has garnered a lot of attention online. The tournament, held on August 9, took an unexpected turn when an argument broke out between a Canadian player and Brazilian Ana Patricia Silva Ramos.
A video going viral shows a heated argument between Silva Ramos, Canada's Melissa Humana Paredes and Brandy Wilkerson. The referee stepped in to try and resolve the issue, but it just escalated. Once the players had resolved the altercation and returned to their positions, the DJ began playing John Lennon's “Imagine,” and the players smiled. The crowd could be heard singing along.

The video, shared by X under his handle @TheFigen_, has been viewed over five million times on the platform, with several social media users praising the DJ for settling the fight, to which one user commented: “Even a DJ knows all it takes is a little Lennon to keep the peace,” while another commented: “Proof that music can change the world. Music is joy and joy is contagious.”
“A little 'Imagine' turns a volleyball match into beachside kumbaya,” responded a third user. “Nothing says 'let's settle our differences' like a surprise acoustic set at a beach volleyball match. Expressionist dance battle for world peace next!” said another.
Brazil beat Canada to win the gold medal in women's beach volleyball at the Olympic Games in front of the Eiffel Tower. Switzerland's Tanja Huberli and Nina Brunner won the bronze medal, beating Australia's Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Tariqua Clancy, who won silver in Tokyo.
