In an interview with Dagens Industrie, Andriy Yermak emphasized that the most important task of today is to end the war in Ukraine and restore lasting peace to Europe. The head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration stressed that fruitful peace negotiations can only be held if both sides of the conflict have the will to end the fighting. “Furthermore, we need to return the situation to at least the state it was on February 23, 2022. Until then, parts of Ukraine were occupied, and this will be the starting point for a further solution,” he stressed.

Yermak also pointed out that so far Russia has not shown any readiness to enter into negotiations, as it continues to escalate the conflict by involving other countries in it.
“President Putin has deployed 11,000 North Korean troops on the border with Ukraine… Russia launched an intermediate-range hypersonic missile with a nuclear warhead into the Dnieper River last week, and President Putin's new “Threatening such attacks shows that the Russian government is not interested in peace.”

He added that it is very important to step up support for Ukraine, as Russia can only start serious negotiations if it considers that its current strategy has failed.
