In January 2024, a drone attack on Russia’s Ustiluga port.
On the night between Friday and Saturday, drones attacked the Russian commercial port of Ust-Luga in Leningrad Oblast. It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Russia and Europe. According to Ukrainian media, a window in one of the buildings in the complex was damaged.
Most of the drones that attacked Russia’s Leningrad Oblast last night were shot down over the Novatrans LLC terminal at the Ustiluga commercial port, Ukraine newspaper Pravda reported, citing Telegram’s Astra channel.
“Earlier, a window was damaged in one of the buildings in the port area,” we read. According to information from the local governor, four drones were shot down over the area. He also said there were no casualties or damage.

Ukraine’s Pravda newspaper reported on Saturday morning that St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport had introduced restrictions on flight arrivals and departures for the second time in 24 hours.

Let us recall that the Russian commercial port Ustiluga is one of the largest complexes of its kind in Russia and in Europe. He began his work with the opening of the coal terminal in December 2001.
The port of Ust-Luga is attacked by drones. It’s not the first time
The Port of Ustruga is located on the Baltic Sea and currently has seven terminals: a fuel terminal, a coal transshipment terminal, a universal transshipment terminal, a timber terminal, a sulfur transshipment terminal, an automobile and rail terminal, and a multipurpose terminal. In 2023, the transshipment volume at the Ustiluga port reached 113.5 million tons.

This is not the first time strategic facilities have fallen victim to drone attacks. The last attack of this kind occurred in January 2024.
