The American Daily cited four sources. Boris Epshteyn, who coordinated President Trump's criminal legal defense, is said to have suggested to President Donald Trump that he might become the US president's special envoy on the Ukraine war.
The New York Times notes that Epshteyn was born in Moscow, Russia, and lived there during her childhood. The paper suggests that the lawyer has no experience in international politics, but asserts that his family is on both sides of the conflict.
The newspaper said some of Trump's associates were “shocked” by the proposal, but Trump himself listened with interest. But he hasn't made a decision yet.

The editors also note that President Trump has already given Epshteyn broad powers, and that Elon Musk, who is participating in a meeting dedicated to the new White House administration's transformation plan, has given Epshteyn broad powers. He also emphasizes that he was surprised by this.
The newspaper added that Epshtein resigned from his position in the White House communications office in 2017 during President Trump's first term, citing issues with classified information. The matter has now been resolved, but Epshteyn is said to want to remain outside of government.
