Warsaw Zoo is undergoing changes. The Cape penguins, who are due to get a new pavilion, will benefit from them. A tender was announced for its construction. Proposals can be submitted until the end of November.
According to the Capital Development Authority, the new pavilion for penguins is not only comfortable, but also provides conditions as close as possible to their natural environment. The focal point of this space will be an outdoor pool with an island that will allow the animals to swim and dive freely. “Next to the swimming pool, yards with 'beaches' with different levels and special breeding areas will be built,” he added.
A quarantine pond will also be built, with a shallow pool to ensure the safety and health of the entire colony. “This place allows animals to be temporarily separated if necessary,” noted the Warsaw Zoo. There is also a livestock building here, which is used only for animals and workers.
