Parents of children from two kindergartens in Saska-Kepa have prepared a petition to change the paid parking zone. They require, inter alia, that short-term parking be available within the facility. They explain that due to the lack of public parking on Dabrovki Street, they are forced to break the rules or park their cars far from the entrance, which creates inconvenience for children.
On Dabrowki Street, where there are two kindergartens, 211. Winnie the Pooh and 162 Saski Zakątek, along with the introduction of a paid parking zone, the possibility of parking for all those who do not have an identifier for this specific zone has been eliminated . This is about ID B-3. It is available to residential subscription holders whose registered address is in this area.
Since the zone came into effect, it is not possible to legally park on either side of the road on this street: on the one hand, it is prohibited for people who do not have a subscription to the local area, and on the other hand. There is a total parking ban.
– As parents, since the introduction of this zone, we have not been able to legally leave the car there and take our children from the kindergarten. This forces us to break the rules, because we have to be located at a distance from the kindergarten, which is disturbing, said the head of the parents’ council of kindergarten No. 211, Jacek Władysław Bartizel.

They prepared a petition and proposals for changes
More than a hundred parents of preschool children have signed the ZDM, the president of Warsaw and the mayor of Prague-Poludnie and asked for help. They are demanding changes in traffic management regarding parking for parents dropping off and picking up their children from kindergarten.
They offer two ways to satisfy their demand. The first one is under the no parking sign on the north side of Dabrovki Street, where there is a no parking sign, you can install the “More than 15 minutes” sign.
– The parking sign prohibits parking for more than one minute. This is definitely not enough time to pick up your child from kindergarten. If there was a school, it would be different when the children grow up. In the case of preschoolers, that’s completely impossible, Bartisel said.
He added that such a sign means that parking for people without documents will be prohibited except for 15 minutes. – This allows you to send your child to kindergarten. The problem will be solved, he said.
The second option requires some changes to the infrastructure and includes the addition of several parking spaces at the end of the green area along Esterska Street next to Dabrowki Street. These spaces are reserved for parents dropping off or picking up children and also have time limits so that it is not extra parking but space for parents of preschoolers.
Bartizel emphasized that parents expect this problem to be solved immediately and the necessary changes to be made in the organization of the movement.

– We will see what the options are. Together with the Department of Road Traffic, we will consider whether any changes in the organization of traffic are necessary. Is it helpful to designate kiss and ride parking spaces there? This appeal has just come to us, so we have to acknowledge it, said the spokesperson of the Municipal Road Administration, Jakub Dybalsky, when asked about the case. He added that all traffic changes will be handled by the traffic office.
He emphasized that it is not necessary to take children by car. – I understand that there are parents who are used to this way and cannot imagine another way. But this is not necessary, he added.
