How do kitchens work?
Source: TVN24 If there are too many Christmas dishes left, you can bring them to the kitchens – these are places where you can put food in specially marked refrigerators and cabinets or use other people's leftovers.
– The point is that those who have too much food bring it here, leave it here, and those who need it can come and get it. It's absolutely for everyone, – TVN24 reporter Marta Abramczyk said from outside one of the restaurants in Warsaw.
Expired products should be sent to the kitchen. The contents of the package must be described, including the date of manufacture of the product. Some people also note on the containers about the ingredients used or allergens. Hotels have received among others: herrings in ice cream and vegetable sauce, or tuna salad.

“You can't waste it, someone will use it”
– We bring food that we eat ourselves, it has an expiration date and it is fresh, – suggests Abramchik. Every kitchen has a recipe. It includes, among other things, products that should not be brought. These include raw meat and foods containing raw eggs.
– This year I exceeded the number of cakes I made. We ate most of it, it's good, but there's always something left, and we're here not to throw it away, said one of the residents and took a sweet omelette and apple pie to the kitchen.
– It cannot be wasted, someone will use it – said a man, putting the food in the fridge.

The food cards are part of the city's efforts to reduce waste as part of the “I Think ~ I Don't Waste” education campaign.
Thanks to the canteens, food is not wasted. During the entire campaign, we must also remember to take care of the cleanliness and operation of these places, which were created as a result of the public initiative.
