The weather front that brought snow, sleet and sleet last night is now pushing very warm air into Central Europe. – This jump in temperature is very visible and sudden – said Tomas Vasilevski in TVN24.
In the next few days, Poland will be under a flood of warm air that entered Central Europe from the Mediterranean Sea.
– This Monday will change everything about the weather a little. After -17 degrees of cold yesterday, it will be 10 degrees warmer today at this time. In some places, it was almost 20 degrees warmer. This jump in temperature is very noticeable and sudden, – said Tomasz Wasilewski, host of tvnmeteo.pl, in “You stand up and know” on TVN24. – This warm air entered Central Europe in such a way that the frosty air pushed the Arctic far to the north of the continent, – he added. As a result, thermometers in central Sweden showed -31 degrees on Monday morning.
As the correspondent of tvnmeteo.pl reported, the frost was removed by the atmospheric front, which has been moving over Poland since Sunday evening. – On Monday morning, he was in the north of the country, – said Wasilewski. This front brought snow, sleet and sleet. – This front will change everything, because it will bring warming and give very hot air to Central Europe, – he added.
Inversion in the mountains
On Sunday morning, thermometers in Gubalovka showed -9 degrees of cold. On Monday morning, after 24 hours, it has already risen to 18 degrees. There is a temperature inversion in the mountains. Vasilevsky said that it is almost 0 degrees in Zakopane, 9 degrees in Gubalowka and 3 degrees in Kasprowiec. A temperature inversion is an increase in air temperature with height.
– In the weather of Poland, if we look at the temperature, it is completely revolutionary. The snow is melting and disappearing very quickly, he added.
This is not the end of winter weather
Does Monday’s warming mean the end of winter? – No, it’s not winter after all. Vasilevskiy said further cooling is expected this coming weekend when Arctic air returns.
The host of tvnmeteo.pl noted that winters in Poland have been very unstable for the past few decades. – I don’t remember the last time there was such a winter, which started and continued without a break. Bathing has recently been interrupted by short episodes of cold, he added.
