It snowed a lot in southern Norway. Snowfall was recorded in the Disen district of Oslo, the capital of this country. More than 30 centimeters of snow fell there in 24 hours.
Early this week there was a lot of snow in the southern parts of Norway. Up to 30 centimeters of snow fell in some places. The roads were very slippery. Oslo police reported that there were several accidents on the section connecting Karihaugen with Furuset on Wednesday.
– The cars left for a moment. We encourage drivers to adjust their speed to the conditions and keep their eyes open, said Kristin Bryntesen Hedley, a police officer in Oslo.
Record rainfall
On Tuesday, a record snowfall was recorded in the Dissen district of Oslo, the capital of Norway. 30.7 centimeters of snow fell there within 24 hours. Norwegian meteorologist Unni Nilssen said: “This kind of rainfall has not been recorded in Disen since 1998.”
The heaviest snowfall in Oslo’s recorded history was recorded in the Blindern area. In 1995, up to 35.5 cm of snow fell there. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute reports that snow will continue in Oslo until Thursday.
