Yahoo Sports and NBC Sports have teamed up to host a $1 million fantasy football sweepstakes. If you are a participant in a private Yahoo fantasy football league, you have the chance to enter this first-ever fantasy football sweepstakes for a chance to win the cash prize.
If any of the players on your fantasy team score a touchdown in any of the three Week 1 games broadcast on NBC or Peacock (Ravens vs. Chiefs, Packers vs. Eagles, Rams vs. Lions), you'll get an extra entry.
With that in mind, Dalton Del Don lists 10 sleeper candidates who can help score touchdowns and earn bonus lottery entries, and all of the players mentioned are on the late side of being drafted in Yahoo leagues, if they are at all.
Previously, our analysts also revealed which players are most likely to score a TD in one of the three games.
He likely finished as a top-five fantasy tight end three times over the final five weeks last season due to Mark Andrews being sidelined, and he also ranked as TE8 in Week 18 despite only getting two targets as Baltimore rested a number of starters.
Likely should play a bigger role this season, even if Andrews is healthy, as the Ravens have a clear weakness at WR2 and use tight ends in the red zone more than any team in the league. Reports suggest Likely could be Baltimore's No. 2 receiver option in 2024, and the Ravens should have to pass the ball often against the Chiefs.
Steele has emerged as a candidate to take over the RB2 role in Kansas City while Clyde Edwards-Haley deals with off-field issues, Jerick McKinnon is gone and Denerick Prince has been waived.
Steele avoided tackles 29% of his time in college and racked up yards after contact, including an NFL-high 11 tackles avoided on 11 carries in the preseason. The Chiefs have a healthy projected team point total (24.8), and Steele's size should make short scores easy.
Samaje Perrine was added on WednesdayBut it's not a move that will impact Week 1. He'll need time to learn the playbook and get up to speed, especially with the game being on a Thursday.
Wicks finished in the top 20 in fantasy points per target last season, fourth in first downs per target and third in receiving DVOA behind Brandon Aiyuk and Nico Collins. He'll be fourth on Green Bay's deep receiver chart, but Jordan Love will spread out the targets and Wicks will make the most of it.
Philadelphia should see an improvement in its secondary, but the Eagles allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers last year and the second-most touchdowns (27).
Dotson should be Philadelphia's WR3, as the Eagles traded him for a pick in a recent trade. He'll likely get a lot of work in the slot. The Packers gave up the eighth-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points last season. Dotson was a top-20 pick and had a stellar rookie career, so he's a sleeper to get to the end zone in an offense that's expected to score 25.5 points.
Parkinson has been ignored on draft charts despite entering the draft as Los Angeles' clear new starting tight end in 2024. The former five-star rookie signed a $22.5 million contract (with a number of guarantees) during the offseason and has been praised throughout camp. Tyler Higbee has been a key member of Los Angeles' offense thus far, but he started this season on the PUP list and now Parkinson will take over that role.
L.A.'s offense has a lot of potential, as the Rams led the NFL in yards per play last season when fully healthy. Parkinson will join a Lions secondary that allowed the sixth-most passing scores (28) last season, and Puka Nacua is back from injury entering Week 1.
With the departure of Josh Reynolds, Raymond will take over the WR3 role in Detroit, with Jameer Gibbs and Sam LaPorta both returning from hamstring injuries entering Week 1. Jared Goff has averaged 277.2 passing yards (7.9 yards per catch) and 44 touchdowns in 17 games with Detroit over the past two seasons. The Rams allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to wide receivers last year, and the Lions have the highest estimated team point total (27.3) entering Week 1.
Raymond is a sleeper who can score against a Rams defense that is without Aaron Donald and has a shaky secondary.
Bonus Quick Hitters:
Demarcus Robinson, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Robinson entered the game as the front-runner to be LA's WR3 again in 2024 and was quietly a top-20 fantasy WR from Weeks 13-17 last season. He was targeted inside the 10-yard line six times in those five games. The Rams used three-WR sets in a league-best 95 percent of the time last year and Sean McVay's offense is a fantasy goldmine for wide receivers. The Lions allowed the third-most touchdowns by wide receivers in losses last season.
Tucker Kraft, TE, Green Bay Packers
Kraft expects to be ready in Week 1, averaging the sixth-most fantasy points per target among tight ends last season, and while Green Bay has plenty of competition, Tucker could also score a touchdown on any given week.
Emmanuel Wilson, RB, Green Bay Packers
Wilson started the Packers' final preseason game, totaling 78 yards on 13 chances and will likely slot in as Green Bay's RB2 in Week 1. AJ Dillon is on season-ending injured reserve and Marshawn Lloyd continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury.
Jordan Whittington, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Whittington was a highly touted rookie who flourished throughout the preseason, and Detroit allowed 22 touchdowns to wide receivers last year, more than the Eagles and Commanders.
